Sandals Emerald Bay to be Transformed into Beaches Exuma

Sandals Resorts International has recently announced that they will be transforming the Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas into the Beaches Exuma. This oceanfront resort is set to close on August 15th in order to undergo renovations, with work expected to commence in the fall. While an exact reopening date has not been specified by Sandals, they have assured guests with reservations at the Sandals Emerald Bay that they will be contacted regarding their options. Impacted guests will be given the opportunity to rebook at another Sandals resort and will receive special benefits during their stay.

The new Beaches Exuma will boast updated accommodations such as reconfigured multi-bedroom villas, suites, and connecting rooms. Additionally, there will be upgrades to the food and beverage offerings to enhance the overall guest experience. Family-friendly amenities will also be a focal point, with the addition of a new Kids Camp, splash deck, and other play areas. Despite the transformation, Sandals plans to retain the Red Lane Spa and the Greg Norman-designed 18-hole golf course, ensuring that guests can still enjoy these luxurious amenities.

Adam Stewart, the executive chairman of Sandals Resorts International, expressed his excitement about the transformation and highlighted the family-friendly nature of Exuma. With 6,000 feet of shoreline, the Beaches Exuma is poised to offer guests a gateway to the unparalleled beauty of this part of the Bahamas. This new addition to the Beaches portfolio is a testament to Sandals‘ commitment to providing unforgettable vacation experiences for families.

A Look Back

The 500-acre Sandals Emerald Bay originally opened in 2010 and has since become a beloved destination for travelers. Prior to Sandals taking over the property, it operated as a Four Seasons resort. The forthcoming Beaches Exuma will become the fourth all-inclusive resort in the Beaches portfolio, joining the ranks of Beaches Negril and Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica, as well as Beaches Turks & Caicos.

The transformation of the Sandals Emerald Bay into the Beaches Exuma marks an exciting new chapter for this oceanfront resort. With enhanced accommodations, family-friendly amenities, and a stunning location in Exuma, this newly renovated resort is sure to become a top choice for families looking to create lasting memories in the Bahamas.
