Alaska Airlines Expands Winter Seasonal Route Network

Alaska Airlines is set to introduce Vail to its winter seasonal route network. The airline will operate flights three times weekly from Seattle and San Diego to the popular Colorado skiing destination. These flights will be available between Dec. 20 and March 16 and will be serviced by an Embraer E175 regional jet, offering both first-class and coach cabins.

According to Cirium flight schedule data, Alaska Airlines will be the only carrier offering flights to Vail from either Seattle or San Diego. This new route to Vail is part of Alaska Airlines’ announcement of 18 new services to sun and ski destinations for next winter. Among these new routes, the only year-round service will be daily flights between Boise, Idaho, and Orange County Airport starting on Dec. 19.

Additional Winter Seasonal Routes

In addition to the Vail route, Alaska Airlines will also be introducing four new daily winter seasonal routes. These include flights connecting Fresno, Calif., with Guadalajara, Mexico, San Diego with Reno, Nev., Sacramento, Calif., with Tucson, Ariz., and Los Angeles with Kelowna, B.C. Kelowna serves as a gateway to the nearby ski resorts SilverStar and Big White.

Along with the ski destinations, Alaska Airlines will also be expanding its services to warm-weather locations. The airline will add weekly routes to Liberia, Costa Rica, from both Seattle and San Francisco. Additionally, there will be four-times-weekly service to Puerto Vallarta from New York JFK and weekly service to Puerto Vallarta from St. Louis, Kansas City, and Sacramento. Sacramento will also receive five-times-weekly service to Los Cabos, while Kansas City will have weekly flights to Cancun.

Focus on Orlando

Orlando is another destination in Alaska Airlines’ expansion plans. The carrier will introduce four-times-weekly flights to Orlando from Sacramento and three-times-weekly service from Boise. Lastly, Alaska Airlines will connect Boise with Bozeman, Mont., with five weekly flights between Dec. 19 and March 17.

Alaska Airlines’ expansion of its winter seasonal route network demonstrates the airline’s commitment to providing passengers with a diverse range of travel options to both ski and warm-weather destinations. With the introduction of new routes and increased flight frequencies, travelers can look forward to more convenient and accessible travel choices in the upcoming winter season.
