Princess Cruises Expanding Summer Presence in the Caribbean

Princess Cruises has announced a significant expansion of its summer presence in the Caribbean for the year 2026. This expansion will see the cruise line doubling its operations by homeporting one ship in Port Canaveral and another in Fort Lauderdale. This move marks the first time Princess Cruises will offer summer sailings from Port Canaveral, adding a new dimension to their Caribbean itinerary.

With plans to sail over 90 cruises out of the two ports, Princess Cruises is gearing up for its biggest summer Caribbean cruise season to date. The Caribbean Princess will operate out of Port Canaveral, offering seven-day sailings to both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Meanwhile, the Regal Princess will be stationed in Fort Lauderdale, catering to passengers with seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, as well as eight-day cruises to the Southern Caribbean.

In addition to the standard cruise offerings, both ships will also feature unique open-jaw Southern Caribbean itineraries. The Caribbean Princess is set to embark on a 13-day journey from Fort Lauderdale to Port Canaveral, stopping at various exotic destinations such as Princess Cays, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, San Juan, Amber Cove, Grand Turk, and Nassau. On the other hand, the Regal Princess will undertake a 14-day voyage from Fort Lauderdale to New York, with ports of call including Curacao, Aruba, Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, St. Maarten, and San Juan.

Amidst the expansion of its Caribbean operations, Princess Cruises recently faced a setback in Australia. The cruise line had to cancel a series of cruises originating from Australia onboard the Crown Princess. This decision was made in response to a change in the scheduled drydock maintenance for the Crown Princess, affecting sailings between September 26, 2025, and January 12, 2026.

Overall, Princess Cruises is making bold moves to enhance its presence in the Caribbean, offering passengers a wider range of choices and destinations to explore. With new itineraries, increased sailings, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Princess Cruises continues to set the bar high in the competitive cruise industry.
