The Luxurious Access to Manhattan: Marriott International’s Helicopter Transfers

As New York’s congestion pricing plan faces delays, luxury travelers have a new option at their disposal. Marriott International Luxury Group recently announced a unique offering that allows guests staying at top Manhattan hotels to bypass traffic and arrive via helicopter from John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.

The initiative by Marriott International Luxury Group offers an unparalleled experience for guests looking to avoid the typical traffic gridlock in Manhattan. With flights operated by Blade, an urban air mobility company, travelers can reach their hotel in Manhattan in as little as five minutes. The helicopter transfers are available from July 1 to Sept. 2 for guests staying at least two nights in selected luxury hotels.

Luxury Hotels Included

Guests staying at one of the six designated Manhattan hotels will have access to the helicopter transfers. These hotels include renowned establishments such as The St. Regis New York, JW Marriott Essex House New York, and The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad. Upon landing in Manhattan, guests will be driven to their hotels by a waiting car service from either Blade Lounge East on East 34th Street or Blade Lounge West on West 30th Street.

While the convenience of helicopter transfers is undoubtedly appealing, access to this service comes at a premium. Guests must book a specific type of suite at the designated hotels to qualify for the complimentary transfers. Prices for suites at these luxury hotels can be steep, with rates going as high as $3,500 per night for a „Liberty Suite“ at The Ritz-Carlton NoMad.

Additional Fees

In addition to the suite costs, guests opting for the helicopter transfers will also incur additional fees. The basic fare for a round-trip transfer starts at $390 and can increase to $500 for a „Maximum Flexibility Fare.“ Ground transportation to and from the Blade lounges will cost an additional $180. However, Marriott’s summer promotion includes both the helicopter transfers and ground transportation as part of the package.

Although the helicopter transfers are reserved for guests staying in suites at the designated hotels, non-suite guests are not entirely excluded from the luxury experience. Marriott’s luxury representative mentioned that guests staying in regular rooms at the specified hotels will receive discounts on Blade’s services this summer.

Marriott International Luxury Group’s introduction of helicopter transfers for guests staying at select Manhattan hotels provides a glimpse into the world of exclusive luxury experiences. While the cost may be prohibitive for some, the convenience and novelty of arriving in Manhattan via helicopter will undoubtedly appeal to discerning travelers seeking a unique and extravagant way to access the city.
